Captain Dave spent 22 years as a licensed merchant marine officer — Great Lakes freighters, Gulf tankers, and Pacific bulk carriers that ran him through Alaskan waters more times than he can count. Since trading the bridge for travel advising, he has sailed 31 more times specifically to evaluate ships and itineraries for clients — 24 of those in Alaska.
